Hattie is a presenter, DJ, artist manager and voiceover artist. Since moving to Manchester almost a decade ago Hattie has been involved in the music scene in various forms. Whether it’s promoting live gigs whilst at Uni, interviewing bands for her YouTube channel Matter of Sound or DJing her weekly club night, GIRLS ON FILM at The Deaf Institute. GIRLS ON FILM is the 80s night that Hattie founded six years ago and in recent years she has welcomed guest DJs including Arcade Fire frontman Win Butler, Hacienda legend Dave Haslam and Charlatans main man Tim Burgess.
The night has since expanded to GIRLS ON FILM presents Decades every first Saturday of the month which sees a takeover of all three floors at The Deaf Institute with a silent disco in the basement! At 13 she was the first and only girl to start an all boys boarding school and has been pushing the boundaries ever since. With a few years at University of Manchester studying English Language under her belt she started freelancing at BBC6Music, BBC Breakfast TV and BBC Radio Manchester.
In November 2012 she won the prestigious Student Radio Awards for best female and this helped her secure her first permanent job in radio, her own show on Radio X (formerly XFM) as well as a one off show on BBC Radio 1. Today she is a presenter on Hits Radio (formerly Key103) which is the only national radio station to broadcast from Manchester. She is also proud to play second bassoon (albeit not very well) in Manchester Wind Orchestra.
